Subject: More ways to bug deckers

You know what happens when you sit in one place for a very long time?
Like on a long car ride? you get all cramped up and youy have trouble
walking? Imagine what would happen if you couldn't shift around at
all. Not pretty eh? Now think-Don't deckers do this ALL THE TIME?

How about rules for this? And we could get another thing to add to
decks:Muscle Stimulation

It's rating is rolled against some TN to avoifd getting the decker
some penalties for sitting in one place without movinbg for long
periods of time. We'd need rules for this first, and probabvly ways to
resist without it, though.

against a TN of X to see if you... you're concentrating on stealthily
following Joe Schmoe for hours, roll against a TN of X to see if your
foot cramps up.
Gimme a break! Any GM would honestly use something like this
is wasting their time and their player's time. The game takes long
enough as it is, with all the rules : Cut the idiotic rules, save time, and
get back to the game.))

I assume the deckers body enters into a state very similar to
that of sleep. When you sleep all direct control of the voluntary
muscles is lost. (Otherwise you would be running around in you sleep
;) when dreaming). The muscles still move but irrgualarly and such.

Alternatively, there are those Gizmos out there used by Physios
that stimulate muscles. Had a friend shove one on me the other day
and crank it up to full (Couldn't move my arm for Billy Shit).

An ASIST link does not completly cut out the neural impulses. In
particular, a full-neural connection (or a simchip), whilst filtering out
gross muscular commands, allow minor commands to go through, allowing
such things as a shift in sitting position.

As for the idea of sitting down making you cramped... it's not
necessarily true. Yoga adepts, for example, can sit for hours meditating,
and be completely limber afterwards. I'd imagine any decker worth his
salt would be like this.

(Also, in my own experience, I can get up from a 5-hour coding session,
without much more than a stretch)

Yeah... if you check out the rules in Shadowbeat, they say that simsense
rigs don't cut out things such as the ability to shift around to make
yourself more comfortable, or emergency response things like pain, or
smelling smoke... the same should be true for deckers.

The RAS override eliminates this problem while in cyberspace. Though I could
see a possible problem when the decker jacks out.
