Subject: Mr. Johnson answers a question
Date: Fri, 12 Jan 1996 05:20:47 -0800
Greetings fellow Shadow Run players and game masters. This I
believe is my first posting to reach the mailing list, as my other post =
was
written when my internet provider was having some problems with the =
e-mail
part of the service. Anyway, and to the point, I would like your input =
on a game
I am preparing for some friends.
Mr. Johnson has contacted the players through third parties
(i.e. contacts of the players) and the players are given a phone number,
password, and time to call. This will set up a conference call through =
several
round about links so Mr. Johnson can talk to the shadowrunners. The =
players
are told that the job he wants done is an extraction of a person, and =
that the
person is willing to be extracted. Mr Johnson is also willing to answer =
one
question from each of the shadowrunners, as long as the question would =
not
reveal the specific identity of the target.
My question to you, is what question would you ask. I am pretty sure
I will have 4 to 6 players (no more then 6), with 1 question per player. =
Can you
please send me the 4 to 6 questions you would ask. The other =
shadowrunners
on the conference call will hear each others question and answer.
Oh, BTW, please feel free to delete the body of the text from this =
message when replying. This letter is kind of long and I as well as =
others don't need to read it multiple times.

Thanks
Brian K. Nielsen

Assuming several runners, I'd prepare for the following:
1. What corp are we extracting this person from?
2. What department is this person in, and how high up in the heirarchy? IE,
how important is he to the corp?
3. What country is he in?
4. How much does it pay?

Concerning mr. PC's questions:

1. How shall the extraction proceed?
2. What kind of opporsition will we encounter?
3. Benefits?
4. Why should we do it - ie, a low-pay Johnson with a skanky job is
better left to find some other fools. Besides, rep might rise (and fall),
but better hungry than dead.
5. Advance pay.

-> these issues should be enough to an estimation of what kind of run
this is. At least I think so - see you, I'm going home to crash.

Some questions related to Andrew Raglands:
1. Dpending on the subjects position in the Corp heirarchy and department,
from what type of installation is the extraction to take place? Archologies
are baaad ass!
2. Pay. Bonuses for a dry run/secrecy or is the extraction at all costs?
3. Does the Corp know the subject wants out?

With just that little info this is what I would ask:

1)If we were to accept, how much?

2)If we were to accept, where are we extracting him from (corp, gov't,
syndacate)

3)If we were to accept, which would be prefered: Loud or silent?

4)If we were to accept, do you want him alive or dead?

5)If we were to accept, is he a mage, we wouldn't want to slap stim patches
on him if he is.

6)If we were to accept, how, where, and when do we contact you when we are done.

You may be wondering why I started each question with "If we were to
accept". The reason is to cover my ass in case this is a "police" set up.

That way they can't slap conspiracy charges, because it is a hypothetical
situation.
