Subject: Munchkin idea :)

Situation: a grade four initiate decides that he never wants to be hit
again. To that end he designs a personal barrier spell of Force 8 which
allows itself to be layered (i.e. One barrier spell will fit over the
previous.)

He then learns it as Exclusive and puts it on four spell locks. Any attack
will have to get through Four rating 10 barriers!

Anything but a Rotary Assault Cannon on full auto?

Oh boy. Well, I guess I could come up with some constructive
suggestions/ideas, but I won't. I know you have the freedom to post anything
relevant on this mailer, but why do you have to post stuff like this? All it
seems to do is open the huge thread of Mages-Are-Too-Powerful-Squash-Them-Quick
back up again.... *sigh*

Do you have any reason for posting the above information, other than opening up
a painful thread yet again? (Well, at least it's not FAB) *ducks* ;)

I don't mean for this post to sound harsh, but I know it could be taken that
way. Please don't. I am just really sick of this thread coming up all the
time, and I try to discourage it whenever I can :)

Physical barriers? Hmm... wonder if he would starve to death or drown in
his own waste first... :) Could be an interesting experiment.

Unfortunately you are like a homing beacon in the astral, a groundable
source. Maybe nothing in the physical world can harm you, but something in
the astral can!!!:)

Lovely idea, though of it before just as folks point out it has just
a few problems. 1 thing to some respondents, do note grade 4
initiates can mask 4 foci, so pity no free astral links.

This is the nice solution, just a real pity that by the book rules
you can turn spell locks on and off for a simple action, ie turn them
off to eat (thats why you still wear armour underneath) but on for
when the corporators are in hot pursuit. This is one of the reasons i
banned people form turning spell locks on and off, never mind the
levitate persons, improved invisibility, et drek cetera which are
actually far more useful abuses of spell locks than barrier spell son
average.

how about the lagre net gun, so it didn't hit you but your still
wrapped up all nice and neat!

Thats why you put it in a toxin exhaler, its only a 3ft radius affect.
Personally I would rather take a Grade 4 initiate dead than alive.:)

Couldn't you attack him through the astral. While he is defending himself
on the mundane plane just drop a fireball through his spell locks.
I found that the astral is a fun place.
