Seems like an awful lot of house rules are in place to keep munchkins under
control. I always thought we were a minority but apparently there are a lot
of campaigns where the only thing standing between the game and
munchkinesque chaos are heroic gm's and well crafted house rules.

How many munchkins are out there any way? Terry

As little time as I've been playing I don't think I understand the rules
well enough to be a true munchkin, however I would be guilty of
Munchkinism through ignorance and amatuerism most likely.

Now **&* is another case, there I'm the king of the Munchkins.

----My theory on munchkinism:

Munchkinism is like an arms race, in which you have the players and the GM
engaged in a competition. The GM to try to destroy the Characters, and
the players in a continual attempt to make the invincible immortal
Character, the over all battle is over who really controls the game.

Another Random Thought on Munchkins: Most Munchkins would make good
attorneys.

By the way I know someone who Munchkins backlot baseball, so munchkinism
is not just a RPG phenomena.

Some one stop me I'm talking, and I CAN'T SHUT UP!!!

there's no such thing as an inadvertent munchkin.

munchkins also make good Nomic players, because the entire point of
Nomic is to make rules that you can take advantage of.

no; it's just that the rules in most RPGs are both complex enough and
vague enough to tolerate it.

the best way to get rid of a munchkin is to introduce him to Nomic. :)

I could tell by his slurred speech, the heavy glaze over his eyes,
and his inability to stand straight that he was under the influence
of a powerful narcotic. That, or he was a graduate student.
