I have. I'm playing a Cascade Ork smuggler who follows the Wolf totem.

Creating totems for deckers also seems to work really well. I have
recently started research on the Cajun society because I want to have a
reality filter that follows that theme. It will also determine programs,
etc. I believe that if something is that important that you'd make it your
reality in the Matrix, that it should affect your entire life, so it
becomes a totem-esque quality.

A group I onced played in slowly evolec into a tribe. I was the shaman, I
followed Raven.
Our chief/ sammy was a bear. He always packed medical supplies and he roleplayed
going beserk perfectly (we took the flaws of our totem, and the GM would apply
bonuses if our current activity went with it.
Deck was a coyote. And he was VERY tricky in the Trix.
Odd: mage who believed in a totem. As Hans put it, "Thor wants me to use the
runes, not what my people once called gods." He was a heck of a lot morem
respectful of shamans then alot of mages, and we used Kenson's Many Masks of
Magic article to help flesh him out. hans would beat up ANYONE who called
Kristling (my shaman) a "frat boy."

He beat up a lot of Torontonians... 8D

Our Rigger, Sal, followed Craftwork as a totem. She was DETICATED, and
eventually became skilled in guns and such as well.
Finally, we had a detective join us who slowly acknowledged Mother Crow in his
life. Saved my butt more then once... even if he did lie about raiding the
communal fridge. :)

We eventually gained some NPC tribe members, and the characters retired after
buying some Rual UCAS land for the tribe.

Okay, I'm gonna submit some fiction to Nagee, I'm nostalgic now.

Of course. Most of those who follow a shamantic path acknowledge that
there is at lest one spirit that is your guide, weather you are a shaman or
not.

Yeah, there's more of them (mundane characters following a totem) than I
had, at first, imagined. The guy who runs our ganger campaign has an NPC
ganger who follows Wolf, and Dancer, my cybered-up assassin, follows Owl.
