with Shadowrun designers Tom Dowd and Paul Hume. This question came up and
they said it was a typo, that muscle augmentation does indeed give +1 quickness
and +1 strength each per level of augmentation. BTW, another typo in that book
is that cyanide should be 4D2, not 4D3. The thing that I've been looking at
lately from that book is the tactical computer. The effective level of the
computer increases by one for every sensory ehnacement you have. So a level 1
computer hooked to a person with cyber eyes with low light, thermographic and
image magnification level 3, cyberears with hearing amplification, low and high
frequency hearing, and an orientation system (which adds 2 levels on it's own)
has a level 9 computer. With a 4 intelligence, the person can keep track of
13 targets simultaneously, with a target number of 4 on locking on to them
out to a range of 100 meters (image magnification 3 on shotgun range), with
+9 on initiative (though limited by the persons nomraml maximum). With that
many dice and that target number, the person would average 3-4 additional
successes, which would raise a Firearms 6 skill to Firearms 9-10 on that
target. Specialized weapons would be even nastier. Add Synaptic accelerator 2,
Muscle augmentation, suprathyroid gland and cerebral booster 2 and you have a
person who can get 4 actions/round regularly, keep track of 15 people
simultaneously, and have 3-4 additional dice on any attack made.
