This neo anarchists guide to magic, is it a real shadowrun product which is
going to be published or just something on the net.

I have just read Bug city, oh boy oh boy oh boy are some runners going to be
shocked. Especialy if they are running in chacargo on the eventful day, evil

NAGM is a real product that was playtested on AOL and Genie...I have one of
the play-testing copies, but I don't quote from it very often.

It's an official product, supposed to come out around October, I believe.

It could be. I have the voudoun rules as well as phys mag rules in mine,
not to mention a lot of things that clari-/obscuri- fy magic in Shadowrun.
The bulk of the "book" seems to deal pretty heavily with the voudoun
concept. It does call itself the NAGA, but semi-official word puts it as NAGM.

Yeah, I think so. It has paranormal animal totems and rules
expansions/clarifications and so on. Different kinds of wards and that kind
of stuff. And a big section on voodoo.

My problem is trying to get Word for Windoze 6 to accept the Francis font I
downloaded from Paolos WWW pages. Buggered if I can work out how to do it.
Any Windoze gurus out there who have an idea?

Do you have the font itself on file? If so, you can just go to
the "fonts" folder somewhere in the "System" file in windows. It will
have an "add fonts" button in there. You just click on that and it will ask
you what fonts you want to add and you just go from there.

Thanks to Marc and Gurth for the Windoze tips. I was trying to figure out
how to get Word to accept the new font, not Windoze. I've worked it out now,
thanks guys.

Hi folks,
I'm fairly new so don't flame me if this is a stupid question.
In following the discussion on the Neo Anarchist's Guide to Magic
(or the Awakened as it may be called) I have a question reguarding
the Physical Mage. Do they automatically have astral perception
or do they have to spend 2 magic points to aquire the power like
normal phys ads? Finally, if I don't have access to AOL how can
I go about getting a copy of NAGM?

Thanks in advance,

Hi folks,

This reguards the physical mage that has been discussed--
from the NAGM (or NAGA if you prefer). I would like to know if
these physical mages automatically gain astral perception or
do they have to purchase the power like normal phys ads? Also,
is there any way to get a copy of the NAGM if I don't have

The NAGM says:
"With their focus on the physical, physical magicians start out with no
access to astral space. They may purchase and use the Astral Perception
power normally, but can never use Astral Projection. Physical magicians can
only use Metamagic if they have purchased the Astral Perception power,
otherwise they may only use masking to hide their auras and no other
metamagical abilities."

NAGM: not out yet, playtest versions are circling around the net.
CSH: I got my copy from my usual address in the UK, so it's out in Europe too.

The CSH is out in the real world on the shelves of book and game stores
around the planet (well, I think it is, my local joint has yet to get it, but
that's no surprise, it's a comic shop really, not a gaming store). The NAGA
is currently in the AOL playtest area, but has been smuggled out into the
internet (well, sorta, you get the idea <grin>), so various people on here
have bootlegged copies of it. Due to copyright reasons it can't be posted,
but I'm sure that if you want a copy then one can find it's way to your
mailbox somehow...

Okay, I catched the Copyright paranoia thread from ADMIN, and I
guess it's futile to try to get a copy, now that everybody's been warned.
But it sure would be nice to get a review or synopsis on it, so I could
follow this list until it gets out :) You guys sure do ramble on about
it, citing rules and stuff - it's hard to keep up.

A while back I remember hearing that a book called the Neo-Anarchist's Guide
to Magic was due out for Christmas of 95. Was that the working title for
Awakenings or has the release date simply been pushed? From what I heard
this book was to detail differences between the worlds magical traditions,
beyond the largely superficial differences laid out for shamans and=
hermetics.

I think this finally ended up in the FAQ!
but NAGM NAGA and Awakenings are all the same thing, FASA just kept
changing the name.

Awakenings is the definitive title for what we used to know as the Neo-A
Guide to Magic, or the Neo-A Guide to the Awakened (NAGM and NAGA,
respectively).

Very nice, this... What I'm wondering about is why loads of people are
having these troubles with "=A<number>" lately... Even FL's messages do
this sort of thing...

I did notice that a lot got changed between the NAGM-that-I-don't-own, and
Awakenings, though. Not just the large number of spells that were added,
but also the main text itself.
