I sincerely apologize for not responding sooner to this topic, but I've
been sick as a dog with a nasty head cold/flu/sinus infection.

But that Nightime-sniffling-sneezing-coughing-aching-stuffy head-fever-so
you can rest-medicine (ie, a good cold beer) has been working wonders. I
feel at least semi meta-human again.

-----------------------------

The name brand cyber is great, but what I would do is use it in place of
alpha/beta/gamma ware. Higher level chrome is just generic, what this
does is add more flavour it it by not only giving it a name, but also
giving you more options on price/performance/essence.

-----------------------------

There was some talk about warranties.

Warranties are great, but remember, if you do anything wrong, you are
going to invalidate your warranty.

For example, lets say you just got a brand new set of retract spurs. You
can slide them in an out all day long and if they break, they will get
fixed. Put if you slam them through someone's head, the warranty would be
voided. Of course, you could spend extra on an extended
'no-questions-asked' warranty, but figure that adds AT LEAST 10% to the cost.

Also, if you are going to have brand names, figure normal prices are +/-
10% of the retail list (you could shop around for a good deal). If you
wanna get really confusion, make sales, mail-order, upgrade prices (and
competitor upgrades :-).

Imagine, I have a 2051 version of Wired 1 made by . . . lets say . . .
MicroSlime Computing. Eye-Bee-Emm electronics offers to let me upgrade to
their version of 2054 Wired 1 for 10% of the retail cost. The new version
not only has a new warranty, but has an essence saving of 15%.

Er, I think I'm going to far in my nyquil infested brain.

In any case, wonderful idea. Let me get back to all of you when I can see
straight.
