Some of you on IRC already know, since I was griping so much about the
NAN books earlier in discussions, I decided to try my hand and develop a
NAN Netbook for Shadowrun.

The outline is already done, but I am waiting on some permissions via
FASA before I continue any farther.

What I would like from you all is something simple...what do YOU want to
see in a NAN Netbook?

Ideas on the docket may or may not include the following:

More pre-SR History of the Indian's relations with the US Government
Reorganizing the tribe demographics of the various nations
Larger descriptions of each NAN country (Including fixing spelling :-)
Descriptions of each major tribe in each country
Guides to the various cities in the NAN
More information on tribal totems, and thus more and revised totems
Special tribal equipment

So, again, what would you like to see in such a netbook?

Okay, how about ...

Major Power Sites??? (Red Rock Sedona, though an awesome place is likely to
have been "tourismowed to death").

A couple of National NPC Character sheets of interest perhaps?

I think that reorganizing the demographics would, in and unto itself, be a
task I would not envy you doing....

Ah! Didn't think of that. I knew this asking of questions was a good
idea :-)

Was already planning on a few of these. Digger wouldn't let me get by
without putting in a template for a Sioux Wildcat :-)

Reorganizing the demographics is easy. EXPLAINING the reorganization
logically is going to take some work :-)

Oh, another thing which will be in the book guaranteed is a listing of
the tribes which were eliminated by the UCAS government before the Ghost
Dance. It would make little sense if they did not kill off a few tribes,
since they had an order of genocide against all the tribes.

I had actually considered many of the tribes to have undergone this LONG
before the 21st century (and thus the Awakening). I had often used this
consideration as the explanation of the tribe demographics that were
used/applied in the original NAN materials.

Sure, it doesn't make total sense, but it did help explain some things.

<SNIP>

How about a mild theological delving into shamanism and its variants?
Description of reservation life before the NAN?
Are there reservation for non Native Americans in the NAN? :)

And here's an idea I had after seeing part of some National Geographic
show or something. If you wanna use it, go for it, but I've barely
worked on it:

Tribal Lake (power site):
A Shaman-to-be can spend 24 hrs preparing (GM's descretion but involves
gold body paint) for an astral quest to contact his/her totem. The
shaman the dives into the lake and the quest is underway a successful
quest (perhaps an Essence or Charisma (6) test?) results in contact with
the totem and awakening of the shaman's abilities.
A non-intiate can also use the tribal lake to under take a quest for
his/her first grade of initiation.
The tribal lake can additionally be used by magically active shamanics
who can't project (ie, conjurers, shamanic adepts, shamanic physical
adepts, etc) to undertake quests (but to astrally project)

What do you think?

I think you have probably covered all the ground in what I would like
to see, and I would very much like to see such a critter.

Sounds good; I don't really have many suggestions, except maybe to try and
fit it in with FASA's NAN books as well as possible (with the exception of
setting right obvious mistakes).

The border security stuff was just in Target: Smuggler's Havens in the
GM section.
