If you have a nanohive, does it only produce one
nanite type or could it produce 2 types if you
introduced a second nanite?

So does it mean I have to have 2 hives in the
characters body to produce 2 different nanites?

That, as I took it, is exactly right. 2 hives for two different
types of nanites (but only one facilitator).
