Hey guys,

As for Keith ... Chicken !!!

Getting back to the gist of things however, Keith is right, here is some
design information ofr putting a Nano-Mech (tm) into your vehicle.

Nano-Mech (tm)

Description
The Nano-Mech is one of the stranger components that a rigger can have on
their vehicle. The origins of this component supposedly comes from one
Binder-in-the-Dark, during one of his infamous conversations with his wife
(in real life, Keith and I were at the CAD computer room on a saturday
morning and when Keith thought it up we were laughing our hoops off - as a
side note, one of my previous pc's became Binder's wife).

The Nano-Mech comes in levels from 0 to 9. Level 0 is basically a diagnostic
tool for the vehicle, helping the rigger to make repairs. With all the
higher level Nano-Mech's, the nanites gain a Vehicle B/R skill equal to their
level. With this, the rigger only has to make sure that the nanites have
enough spare material on hand.

The target number for the nanites to repair the vehicle is as per normal
rules, and has the same base time. The damage modifier the vehicle has
sustained is also a modifier for the nano-mech B/R test.

If the vehicle takes a D wound, or the Central Control Unit goes down (per
Subsystem damage rules), then the rigger needs to get the Central Control
Unit back on-line before being the Nano-Mech can begin making repairs on the
vehicle.

In addition, the rigger needs to make information downloads to the vehicle
whenever modifications are made to the vehicle. And when the Nano-Mech makes
repairs to the vehicle, it is to the specifications of the plans that it has
in the main memory core.

In a message dated 97-11-03 00:28:50 EST, you write:

I have a clarification to make with regards to the CF requirements for the
Nano-Mech ... the amount of CF required for a Nano-Mech is 1 plus one-third of
the rating of the Nano-Mech. The base one CF is for the Central Control Unit
and the communication fibers that are spread throughout a vehicle.

This CF cost is the same for both Custom and Design Costs ...
