here's a little bit I'm thinking of using to give firearms a bit more
kick ... (into the firer, that is :)

Firearms have a recoil equal to the weapons power (unmodified for ammo)
divieded by the firer's strength, round down. This applies even if only
one shot is fired and is in addition to recoil due to fire rate.

A weapon that is normally fired one-handed (For example, pistols) can be
braced by using both hands to fire. In which case, increase the firers
strength by 50% for determining recoil (and optionally recoil
compensation as per FoF page 83).

A firer can also use his/her entire body to brace against recoil (ie,
drop into an isocles triangle stance) which doubles the firers strength
for determining recoil (x1.5 for firearms that are normally fired
two-handed).

Order of Recoil mod application
1) Recoil built into gun (Gas vent, shock pads, tripods, etc)
2) Double uncompensated recoil for heavy weapons
3) Recoil mods from strength (above and from Fof pg 83.

What do you think? I'm not experienced with guns so I don't know if the
above is reasonable ...

It sounds like it makes sense. If you want to use it I
don't see any reason why not. However IMHO it would add more complexity
to the system where it really isn't necessary.
Are you adding this or kicks :> or because you are
having some sort of problem with people firing 32 round bursts with +3
on the last round?

Actually, neither ... It was actually to reflect guns that had extra kick
... like the Ruger SuperWarhawk ... The system I mentioned made no more
impact on burstfire or fullauto than on SA or SS ...
