Subject: nasty sniper rifles

So you want a nasty sniper rifle? You don't want to make it
a machine gun; what you want is to do some conversion for a
Barret .50 cal sniper rifle. It fires .50 machine gun ammo,
so take the heavy machine gun damage and apply. Call it a
vehicular capable weapon, because it is.

Single shot, must be fired from a bipod or better brace,
illegal to highly illegal. Have fun.

i wouldn't say it must be fired from a bipod or...some of the ones i've
seen have had a sort of reactive stock that absorbs recoil and allow
fire from the sholder. 'course you get back to that gm's discression thang

It does nothing of the sort. The Barret-80 uses a specially designed .50
caliber shell. It cannot use standard .50 caliber machine gun ammunition;
it just won't fit snugly, and will probably damage the firing chamber.

It was designed to damage light to medium armor. It can also damage the
treads of an MBT, and probably pierce the upper rear armor of an MBT. Using
a Barret-80 against a living target is a waste.
