Wait, so I'm not the ONLY one in the world to see it? Cool!!

But Cyberware isn't always seen as inherently evil in movies, hell, even in
that movie, the guy was "good" but the ALIEN beings (read: robots) were
bad....

To keep it somewhat on topic...

Is there a Shadowrun Movie/Anime/Animated series (I.e. not Japanese) out
there? Something like it?

Nope. Large apes with bats made me watch it.

I don't know, but I was wondering if anyone had seen anything similiar to
shadowrun in a non-novel printed graphic (read: comic book/manga) format?
I've always kind of hoped that Vertigo would do an SR series. Help get an
idea of what the SR world looks like from another persons view.

I could go on and on about shadowrun movies.

ANIME: Hmm, I haven't seen a lot of anime, but there was one called
_Blood Angel_, it had a lot of cyber stuff in it. _Golgo 13_ is
about a proffesional hitman, set in RL time, but still pretty cool, and
maybe a good plot line. (WARNING: I am not sure, but there may be more
that one Golgo 13 movie, but I think the one I seen was the first)
Crying Freeman episodes are pretty cool, there about a person who is
forced to kill people for a crime organization and cries everytime he
kills someone--pretty good character concept maybe. _Akira_ ... nuff said.
Hmm... all I can think of right now.

Animation (not Japanese)... not much I'm afraid. _Phantom 2040_ isn't bad...
but not that good either. (mostly do to their reluctance to include death,
although I remember someone dying). But it has the right atmosphere
anyway. _Bots Master_, which was cancelled I think, was pretty cool with
a rigger type character who also made robots fought the corparation.
Those are the only ones to come to mind.

For those Interested, here is a list of movies rated * to *****, if you
want a better plot synopsis, just e-mail me privately.
Nemesis *** Lot of Firearm combat. The shoot thru the floor scene rocks:)
Nemesis II ** Totally ripped woman with Bioware.
Big Trouble in Little China ***** One of my favorite movies. Set in
modern time, but includes PAs and magic. Cool plot. Really funny.
Heat ***** Maybe the best of 95' Good shadowrunning and how it can go bad.
Broken Arrow **** Pretty dam cool. Nukes. Good shadowrunning. good
photography. Try to see it a theatre, it makes a difference.
Hackers **1/2 can decide if I like it or not.
Johnny Neumonic <sp?> *** Poor acting, but about as shadowrun without being
shadowrun (w/o magic). Just read the opening preface. :)
Split Second *** Interesting character pretty cool, "magic" oriented plot.
Crow ***** Interesting characters. plot idea. Supernatural stuff.
Demolition Man *** From Stallone's character's point of view if he was
shadowrunner... "I'm in Hell!!!!!"
Hunted *** Ninjas and Samurai in modern times.
Strange Days **** Good movie for BTL kinda stuff. plot ideas
Virtousity ** Old hat stuff, but maybe a cool plot idea
The Hidden **** Cool idea and cool characters. Pretty dam good opener.
The Hidden II * Ughh... don't bother. [sound of snoring]
Young Blood * Vampires. Funny without meaning to be.
Army Of Darkness **** pretty dam funny. Magic, guns, chainsaw, knights,
Necronomicon, undead, and Ash. What else do you need?
Warlock *** Magic and plot ideas for a cereal killer or the Anti-christ
Warlock * Not that good, and kind of nauseating.
Prototype 23-a <sp> *** kinda strange, post apocalyptic stuff with cyber.
Running Delilah ** poor acting, but someone changed to cyber-freak
unwillfully.
Sneakers ***** Excellent shadowrunning. interesting characters. Excellent
plot idea. Runs WITHOUT killing people! seems impossible, huh? :)

I'm missing some probably, but I'm sure someone will fill in the gaps.

Oh yeah, for those in the US, there is a series about vampires and
supernatural stuff called _Forever Knight_. Sunday, channel 43, 1:30am,
I think. Pretty cool, some shows better than others.

YES!!!!

Sin City is *fantastic* if you want a feel for some pockets of the Barrens.
I have an elven street samurai who comes from a very similar area.

I don't play Easy often. She's a homicidal psychotic and is quite difficult
to role-play properly... but she does tend to have an interesting effect on
many runs.

Umm, well I know it *is* Japanese, but try the anime series CyberCity
Oedo 808. It's pretty shadowrunny. Also, for a nice look at a rigger over
the edge, check out the short anime called Running Man. It's only about
5-10 minutes long, but the graphics have to be seen to be drooled over.

What I meant by "not Japanese" Was the .../Animated, as in to distinguish
it from Anime (in my opinion Animation and Anime are different things, like
different genre)

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll contact a friend of mine about those
serieses (?)

Thanks
