Hoi,

One of my players found an interesting note in the Neo Anarchists Guide to
Real life. In Laura's Decker comment on page 37. "Vashon Island also
offers a full range of synthleather fashion gloves with a little something
extra set into the knucklesand along the edge of the hand: a special
forulation of thin macroplast with the density of lead...Basically it turns
the gloves into a set of Knuckledusters....They are vastly overpriced at
350Y a pair..."
My question is one, has anyone seen anything further on these gloves or
have some sort of stats on them or something like them. My ruling is they
allow Str +2 M damage. Comments are welcome. This brings me to my next
question, how seriously do people take the decker comments on a particular
piece of gear?

Thanks

Shadowgear (from the Plastic Warriors site) gives em a happy (Str+1)M
Stun.

In my game, knuckle dusters do (str+1)M Stun damage; unfortunately this is
just as powerful as a club...

You shouldn't post if they're not ;)

Not all that much, since many are difficult to put into game terms, and so
can be hard to use if someone takes that piece of gear for his or her
character.

Well not exactly Gurth...you still get the +1 reach with the club.

Hope that makes you feel better. :-)

I see them as suggestions for house-rule and new item improvisations, that's
all.

Well....According to an old Ka*Ge Implast weapons add +2 to their
power rating....
Cost: Normal Weapon Cost
Gloves: 1000 -Y- A bit more than the ones in NAGRL
Availability: 4/48
Street Index: 1

Basically as seriously as you want to...Personally..I try and use
them as a portion of the discription..sort of like testimonials..I
figure thst FASA wouldn't waste the space and spend the money putting
them there if it is supposed to be all white noise...

Okay, that's the one advantage a club has, but IMO being hit by a club can
do more damage than being hit by a knucle duster (though I've never been
hit by either, and don't intend to be :)

Before anyone else says it, with the +1 Reach you _can_ do more damage
because you can get successes more easily -- but your maximum possible
damage is still the same as for a knuckle duster, assuming you roll an
equal number of dice with either.

I guess it didn't. =)

I personally subscribe to that philosophy also and find works very well.

I actually agree with you here...I see the club as the sword of the stun
damage world. I would give it a str+2, but then that makes it the same as
a staff (I think), but a club and a staff would be about the same damage
wise you just get the reach bonus with a staff. Ahhh well who knows.
