OK fanboy&girls. Here's a little something I'm using in my current campaign.
We all just started with new characters. We are limited to weapons no bigger
than a shotgun, and cyberware with an essence cost no greater than one point.
Bioware has been banned, and few players are opting for physads, mages or
shamans.

With all this in mind, feast your eyes on . . .

Former Hick/Redneck Archetype

Quotes: "So this here varmint done swiped yer cyberwatchamacallit, 'n' you
wants me ta get it back fer ya? Ah kin handle it."
"Mebbe Ah don't know that much about this here
mega-sprawl-plex-whatever. Don't mean Ah cain't handle a job this easy."
"Ya wanna talk work? Try balin' hay, or brandin' metacattle.
Nossirree, this shadow stuff ain't work. It does pay well though. Ain't thet
right Johnson?"

Commentary:
While the sprawl may be home for many inhabitants of the Sixth
World, there are still some people who shun the city for the peace and quiet
of the few rural areas that reamin unpolluted and free of corporate or
tribal influence. The Hick's knowledge of such areas make him invaluable on
any run outside the confines of the city. While he may lack knowledge of the
plex, the Hick is no bumbling fool. His practical outlook, and "horse-sense"
make him an asset to any shadow team.

Attributes:
B:6 Q:6 S:6 C:4 I:3 W:5 E:6 R:4 INIT:1D6

Skills:
Firearms:6, Unarmed Combat:4, Truck:4, Stealth (Rural):6, Athletics:6,
Throwing:4, Biotech:2

Gear: (Please note, the Hick's gear will not add up to the proper value
according to the book. That is because his pickup was purchased used. Treat
the truck like second hand cyberware as far as being prone to breakage.)

Used 2049 Toyotacorp Gopher Pickup Truck (with gun rack), Defiance T-250
shotgun, Survival Kit, Binoculars, Trauma Patch(4), Real Leather Jacket,
Enough rope or chain to pull his truck out of the mud

Comments anyone?

I think that might be a good idea as well. I'm just now playtesting "Bubba"
as we affectionately call him. He was designed originally as a possible
college football linebacker who could pass the ACT's for college. That was
why his phys-Atts are maxed.

The Way of the Hero

In each truly heroic struggle there is a time of commitment.
A time when human energies fail, yet more is required . . . and more is given.
Few are equal to that task.
Often that effort ends in failure, for victory is not always for the brave.
But where a man might falter, these ones do not, not while life and spirit
endure.
Not until the last measure is given.
To transcend the man, become the hero.
