Sorry if I'm posting out of turn, but I'm a bit new at this mail list
thing, although I've been online for about two years. Is this just a
general discussion list for topics like rules clarification, commentary,
etc.? If so, I'd just like to ask if there's anyone in the Orlando area
who might be looking for another player in their campaign. I'm a bit
rusty (It's been a while) but I'm looking forward to playing again.

Actually, I don't think that you can post out of turn...But, yeah, this
is where you ask about rules clarification, general conversation, reviews
and like about Shadowrun, FASA's cyperpunk/fantasy RPG...

So, welcome to ShadowRN!

Thanx! Although as much as I've mouthed off in the short time I've been
here, I'd have gotten lynched if I was out of turn! <grin> I do miss the
old Shadowland, though, since this bloody WebTV won't give me friggin'
Java so I can access the new one!

Hi! AFAIK There really isn't any such thing as "posting out of turn"
(unless you mention a certain method of making spells permanent and it's
relation to astral space, or a certain tree-tossing mammal) - but then I
haven't been on as long as...oh say someone like...Bull. :)

Yup pretty much. Rules clarification, debate and flat out arguments.
Commentary (sometimes coherent and usefull - OK, _mostly_ coherent and
usefull). Product Review. Pick the local FASA representatives brain
sessions (Line Developer Mike Mulvihill is a member). General discussion
of assorted SR (and loosly SR, or sometimes not-even-remotely-SR) topics.
Basic sounding-board service where you can post something you thought up
and see how several dozen SR players across the globe dissect (vivisect?)
it. In a nut shell, anything you can imagine a room full of SR players
(and gamers in general) talking about. And on that last point, just as
your average gaming session has ebbs and flows in the players'
attention....so do the topics on ShadowRN.

That's right...

I've been been here for only 6 months or so...:)

And yeah, I'm loud at times...

I hope that not (always) a bad thing...:):):)

Barely off of your training keyboard! I think I can count on one hand the
regular posters that have been here longer than me, and Bull ain't one of
them. Not by a couple of years.

> And yeah, I'm loud at times...

For every lurker... There's someone with a new keyboard, and far too much
time to use it...

> I hope that not (always) a bad thing...:):):)

Only when I find myself downloading 250+ mails from the list in less than
24 hours. And so far, nearly half have been OT...

<bitch mode>

While helping the newbies is all fine and great, this is another thing
that could be taken off list. How many of us need to read every hint and
helping post to get each and every newbie poster in shape? *sigh* This
cycle happens at least twice a month, and more and more often lately...
I'm spending more time replying to OT threads, in the form of bitching
that they are there, thus adding to the crap...

(And yes, I'm in another of my moods. I missed being hit by some f***ing
idiot tonight by maybe half an inch. (a centimetre, for those
metric-types) I have a bruised wrist (my hand hit the car when I dodged)
and pulled muscles from dodging) Add that to the idiot customers at work,
and now the OT spam... One might be able to imagine why I'm so easily
annoyable)

</bitch mode>

Not anymore, though remember that when you first joined, the number of OT
posts went through the roof :)
