Ok Kids... Since this silly idea I threw out to the list got such a great
response, I've decided to go ahead and run with it, providing you guys are
still willing to help. i had a good dozen volunteers or so, so...:]

Anyways, here's the REAL basics so far. I haven't gotten much further with
the idea yet, but I'll bounce some ideas off the Newbie-Helpers once we get
set up.

The Newbie's guide will basically be in 2 sections... The Newbie's Guide
to Shadowrunning, which will be an In Character point of view Shadowland
Style Post, with advice and stuff coming from various Shadowrunners. The
second will be the Players Guide to Shadowrun, which will be an aid for new
players to the world of Shadowrun. It will outline the various character
types, give an introduction to the SR world, and give advice for playing
the different character types, and help new players avoid annoying newbie
traits such as Munchkinism...;]

Now, I talked with Adam (Fro, I'm sorry man, but I HAVE to call you Fro.
Oterwise no one has a clue who I'm talking about! :)) some on IRC, and we
decided the best course of action was to start a new mailing list. This
way we're not spamming SRn or NERPS with this stuff, and sending mail out
to a dozen different people gets a bit unwieldy after a while, so... And I
found a place that's willing to host a mailing list, so we're good to go.
(Gurth, I'm not trying to cut into your NERPS turf, don't worry :)).

Anyone interested in helping out with the Newbie's Guide project, or just
interested in seeing what progress we are making onb it, sign up like this:

TO: majordomo@****.net
SUBJECT: <leave blank>
BODY: subscribe srcreate <your eamail addy>

I'm still working out all the details and getting all the commends for
majordomo worked out, but teh basics of the list work (i.e., you can send
and recieve messages). One thing to note, however, is that you have to
replace the TO: field with the mailing list address anytime you reply.
Unfortunately, it automatically puts in the original senders addy, and I
haven't figured out how to change that yet, so...:]

But it will work for a little baby list to play with...:]

Fro has volunteered to do things like list maintanence and stuff, and
Granite, if you're willing, I'd like you to kinda be a "second in command"
as well to helkp me organize, though I'll be in charge since everyone
thinks I should be. We'll see what we can get accomplished, eh?

Thanks for the time...

Bull / Steve

Nice, but you didn't mention what the mailing list address was. I'd
guess SRCREATE@****.net, but.......
