How do you deal with new arrivals in combat? Examples include intruders
from outside, Conjured Nature Spirits, Elementals called in from Standby, etc.

Also, how long does it take to summon a watcher? I have been using a
Complex Action, but while researching for my FAQ that the GRIMMY doesn't say.

Roll initative and assume they took a held action if they rolled
above the present until now.
For comming round the corner etc, roll andassume they spent all
actions above the present on movement or observing. They act in their
next action below the present assuming they have acted in al previous

eg come in on 17 , you roll he got 23, well he spent that running so
hes seen in 17 and can be shot at but his combat pool is valid, acts
again in 13.

Simple... Roll initiative and deduct the actions up to the point the rest of
the party are at.....

I found my own answer while looking up the Astral Security thing...Under
Elementals in SRII, it says to do what you just said. (I play a shaman, and
it doesn't say it under Nature Spirits, so I never found it...)

Anybody else dislike the initiative rules? I love the House rule about
changing the 10 Combat phase, but I don't use just because I don't like
changing such big things...

In the above example, A Street Sam with Move by Wire 4 can walk into a fight
at round 10, get actions that are ignored until round 1, and get pummeled by
everyone going at rounds 8-2. But then, you could always explain this as a
hail of bullets he walks into...except they'd be reacting to him.....

For elementals, this is clearly indicated in SRII: roll initiative, and
disregard all actions higher than the current Combat Phase. For others,
I'd do the same thing: you can say the actions they "lost" were spent
getting to the players' location.

It doesn't say anything about the time needed, so a Complex Action sounds
good enough for me.
