I had an idea for three new foci. And would like some input. They
are:

Drain Focus. This focus adds its force in dice to a mages drain
resistance test. Bonding cost of 2xForce.

Dispelling Focus. This focus adds its force in dice to any attempt at
dispelling a sustained spell or the drain resistance test for
dispelling. Bonding cost of 3xForce.

Warding Focus. This focus adds its force in dice to the users magic
rating for the creation of a ward. Increasing the number of dice for
the creation test and drain test. It also increases the maximum force
of the ward and the maximum area that can be made. Bonding cost of
3xForce.

What does everyone think? Has anyone made or seen something similar?

In effect, it isn't so bad. However, I would increase the bonding cost to be
a bit more in line with perhaps, "Spell Category Foci" or something similar.
Also, I might suggest making the foci more than one type of drain.
Sorcery-based or Conjuring-bsed (and in my personal games, Enchanting-based
on occasion even).

Again, not a bad idea, but I would increase the bonding cost to perhaps a x4
factor, instead of x3.

Now this one I think you could raise to x4, and then have "specific ward type
foci" for each of the types of Wards that could be created.

I think they aren't bad, except for what I mentioned from my personal
opinion/view. Have I seen or made anything similar before? Yes, but
admittedly the "Warding Foci" isn't something we've gotten into since the
Power Foci adds to the user's magic attribute already.

Hi all !

I'm new here and wanna do something worthy - maybe something ya all
like. I write from (and study&work in) Hungary (Eastern/Middle-Europe).
My first SR-game was for about 6-7 years ago, I hope these years
made me a bit "experienced". :-) Hmmm... only a little bit... :-))

If I read again, it doesn't look like a good rpg-CV, but I hope it
can be enough. :-)

(Sorry about my (sometimes) poor english - I'm not a native...)

I think Power Foci not "really" adds to the Magic attr. It only counts
if it's about Drain (spellcasting, conjuring) or conjurable spirit-levels.
(It's written in SR3. )

If you take your spell radius, or something Magic-related, Power Foci
doesn't count. :-(
