The only real mention of the New Jesuits is in Aztlan. I'd like people to
add there speculations.

One question I had in particular stems from Malachi B. Martin's book
(http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/067165716X/) which details a
rebellion of sorts in the Jesuit order. After centuries of being "the Pope's
men", the Jesuits (or some of them anyway) began to directly oppose the
Pope, on largely Marxist grounds. It is a fascinating book, but it ends to
soon; it was published in 1988, and any theological "battle" based on
Marxism probably got a lot more interesting in the 1990's.

My questions are:

1) Does anyone know how this "battle" turned out? That is, what is state of
the Jesuits today?

2) It seems like this sort of betrayal would color the relation between the
Jesuits and the Papacy for a long time. How would it affect the order (and
the Pope) by 2060?

The Jesuits were originally founded to go
out and kill those that wouldn't convert
back to Catholism during/after the
Reformation.

I guess there was that rebellion, and
then the Jesuits moved.

Now they are an education-based order.
They run a number of schools (such as
Marquette Univ, Marq Univ High School
[which I attended], and a few others
I forget the names of) now.

If you want, you can become a Jesuit,
they're an order that has a few
branches, domestic education and
foreign aid being the two big ones
(when Jesuits at MUHS took sabbaticals,
they often went to Africa to help
the native people with education and
health problems).

The Jesuits might split: One going
back to being the Church's Priestly
Warriors, the other learning about
the Sixth World and teaching others.
They might actually be the ones to
compile the volumes of knowledge on
magic and the Sixth World.
