Seeing as my mail-tool is finally allowing me to post to the list,
a friend of mine put together some variant Metamagic powers, some
of which I may allow, so as I enjoy/respect the views of the
list-members, I'' post them for your delectation.

But first a question; for those of you who have read the NAGM, when
do mages get new metamagic powers? I've read the slow initiation
stuff, and will be adopting it, but what's the 'official' line?

They simply get all of them when they reach grade 0. The NAGM has one or two
new abilities for initiates, but nothing really much. If I were you I'd go
for the gradual initiations, it makes much more sense IMHO.
