Okay,

Here's a thought on a plot hook that I have never heard expressed before. In
the new awakened age I would think there would be a great desire for a lot
of the artifacts of the past, especially magical ones. I would think this
would make a whole new, more competive trade in artifacts of the past. You
could have some potentially interesting shadowruns in which you set up a
team that basically retreices these kinds of things for a corp, magic
school, or Draco Foundation. You could get the team out of the city. They
wouldn't have to commite felonies daily to survive. You could even
experiment with some new charcter types. To make the runs interesting you
could have them encouter paracritters, other teams with the same goal, and
have the magical defenses of the sites be reactivated in this new age. So,
what do you think? a good run? would it be interesting?

Yeah, I think it would.

It can even be integrated into a running campaign (Antiques store requiring
some
tough guards or so).

According to Mike Amos, on Fri, 07 Feb 2003 the word on the street was...

You may want to read up on the Atlantean Foundation (in Threats, for
example). One of their activities is pretty much what you describe, and
it's a fair bet that in SR, if _someone_ wants _something_, someone else
will want it as well...

Except for such minor things as grand theft, fraud, smuggling, murder, and
a few others... :)

Provided the PCs are more archeologists than shadowrunners, those
encounters could actually be challenging.

You'd probably want to add some sort of metaplot for the players to discover
as their characters get into more and more 'wierd stuff'.
