Sheesh...why not buy a copy of Car Wars (or Uncle Albert's Catalog From
Hell), and be done with it?

I would have to dissagree..A solid tire is meant to be run that
way..a run flat is meant to run with pressure but will also run
deflated..
Currently solids are available for bicycles..they affect the ride and
handling of a vehice..

Okay, I think I would need to reread this one. I didn't pay that much
attention to Shadowbeat all those years ago (yes, I know, I have sinned, I
shall chastise myself now...HIT HIT HIT ;)

> 2) Hydraulics (BoiNGy bOIngY BoiNGy)

Okay, what exactly do you mean here? As in -making- a truck bounce around, or
just better suspension/shock absorption?

> 3) Fish Tanks

??? Okay ..... *-)

> 4) Monster Truck (Not a chassis but a mod for existing vehicles)

Which would have what benefits? The tires could roll over lower bod
vehicles??? Oh yeah, I can see it now, special attack form....crushing... :)

> 5) Multiple propulsion systems (ie, the car that sprouts heliocopter
> blades...)

Been there, Done That. On a motorcycle no less....

> 6) Colapsabilty/Stowability for non-drones

THAT is the current project I am working on at HHH. Setup/Breakdown
times/information is incredibly lacking. I've already started with just a FEW
things, but the core details are still in the making.

> 7) Oil jets

Okay, now that we've entered the Bond, James Bond(TM), field testing stages...
;P

> 8) Fuzzy Dice

Customization Specifications
Parts Cost : 2 Nuyen (more advanced models would of course cost more :)
Parts Availability : Whenever you can get your sorry ass out of the garage and
to Spencer's(TM) to buy 'em?
Street Index : 1 (unless of course you steal 'em :)
Maximum Rating : Unknown (many stories of people having multiple dice in order
to improve their chances of survival abound)
Base Time : See Parts Availability above.
Skill : GM fiendishness is encouraged.
Target Number : See "Skill" above.
Equipment Needed : One good vehicle, special operations team (aka runners)
consisting of no less than 2 samurai (one troll of course), 2 magicians (3 if
you count the new Politically Correct Runners handbook, to keep things off
balance as much as possible), 1 decker, 1 rigger (two riggers are bad, as they
tend to fight over the aquired goods), and two-three Big Boobed Blonde
Bimbos(TM) for the general appearance and reputation upkeep.
CF consumed : see "Equipment Needed" above.
Load Reducation : Bathroom is *that* way.

> 9) Knight Rider's changing license plates

I hadn't consider this one actually. BUT, it does happen.

> 10) Solid Tires

I thought that is what runflats were for???

> 11) Mudflaps

We just used "Hipwaders" and went from there ;)

> 12) Wetbar

Mike already has this up on HHJr. somewhere.

> 13) Miscilaneous items that don't use electricity (Obvious?)

See "Fuzzy Dice" above.

> 14) Foldable Solar Cell Tent for Electric Vehicles (to recharge your
> bike, for example)

THAT is something we are doing. Just wait until we get the entire Space Race
gear section up and going. Solar Tents, how out-a-date....

> 15) Car horn that plays "La Cucharacha" (sp?)

You know, actually, the Horn system on a car could make a good wea...er, uhm,
toy.

> 16) Tinted Windows

As visibility modifiers go, this actually could be taken seriously. How about
"Controlled Polarization Glass", as that could make things far more
interesting.

> 17) Gun Racks

For the 'Hick'(TM) in us all ;P

> 18) Hidden Compartments

JUST put Microcompartments up on HHH actually.

> 19) Floatation devices in the bucket seats

More likely a modification to bucket seats as they exist now. Use "Flotation
Kits for Aircraft" out of R2, it would work sort of. Just not cost effective.

> 20) Baby Seats

For what? The Otaku-in-training(TM) decker???

> 21) Oxygen Masks (ie, back up life support)

Secondary Systems could be modified with regards to Enviroseal and/or
Lifesupport now.

> 22) IR/Low-light/Ultrasound spotlights

Got those, just don't have them up yet.

> 23) Transparent floors (so you can see if that last pedistrian was

Or if they were worth the points to begin with :)

> I'll toss ya some more if I think of them :)

If they are like most of these were, be warned, you'll get 'em tossed back in
the exact same manner as above.

Possibly but I don't thinks so. Runflats are armored against punctures
whereas Solid Tires are (genrally) not affected by punctures.

Hmm ... Must have missed that ... :)

I'm not sure if you're thinking the same thing I am ... Basicly
Collapsable/Stowable Solar Panels to recharge Electric Vehicles (A
portable solar recharge station?) or to compliment the Solar Cells
already in the vehicle. Perhaps it would gather, under optimal
circumstances, 100 PF per hour?

Woohoo! Just like Dr. Dre's car, right? ooh, yah. I can imagine driving down
the street in one of these...for the Shadowrunner who's truly a gangsta at
heart! (Trinity, are you reading this? ;) )

Also...cup holders! You're forgetting cup holders! I can't help but think of
that Pepsi commercial with the race car driver and the pepsi can...I can
imagine a rigger doing that...

Anyway, Snookums needs a place to put his milk while he's driving, duh. :P

Solar panels orbiting the planet, broadcasting power back to Earth by a
microwave link. Say byebye petrochem!

Actually, I was thinking about this some more and what about something to
make your vehicle actually jump? Put it on a 1998 VW Beetle and call it
"Jumping Bean" :)

Actually, yes we were thinking along the same lines, and I will say that we do
have this already. We are working on kind of ruling however, to create game
mechanics consistency (I know, "in SR?" you saying... ;).

Those are already standard on SR vehicles. This is buried in comments in
various books (like the magic and vehicles rules in Rigger 2).

Somehow I just don't see it being a standard in all cars though. Also, I
guess I was assuming (there's that word again ;) that other people would have
remembered Knight Rider's version of polarizing glass, which was FAR more
effective.

I just finished reading the vehicle rules in SR3 two days back and it
is mentioned in there as standard. Don't have the book on hand for a page
number however.

It is in my campaign :) Ah, here we are... Rigger 2, page 54 at the top of
the right-hand column: "Nearly every vehicle in the 2050s comes with
adjustable tinted windows." That makes me think it's standard unless you
specifically ask for normal windows when you buy a new car.

I don't recall that ... How did it work? Was this in the original Knight
Rider or ver 2.0?

Speaking of Knight Rider ... What about Team Knight Rider's motorcycles
that combined into tha "car"-ish thingy (Two! Two mints in one!)? Yes,
the show's effects for that were cheesy but what about comining vehicles
in a less chessy manner? (A while back there was a Concept Car [from
Dodge?] that looked like an RV but the front end split off into a Minivan
(REALLY mini van) and the rear end was like a trailer. Looked nice too
...)

This one I must have missed somehow. As for the merging concept of two bike's
together, that to me wouldn't be *that* hard to pull off. Having side-car
like hitchings on both vehicles, and then have the operator(s) of the vehicles
make a special handling (linking) test of some sort.

As for the concept car, I keep thinking I've seen something that matches your
description, but don't recall with certainty.

Go Speed Racer GO!!! Hmm. Then we need to add things like Sicky tires that
allow you to drive on almost any surface, and deployable buzzsaws.

BTW, I just thought of a major consideration that was overlooked in Speed R.
