Darn I didn't spot this part..I have been looking forward to this one in
particular...

This sounds pretty good...At least as a make do until the new rules come
out...

I do think there should be limits though..Say the Volks could only handle up
to say a delta grade engine..This would cover overpowering the vehicle and
making it a danger to drive and it would also cover the munchkin player that
would magically end up with unlimited gamma grade access...

As I said before I like it..The new rules as I understand it will be somewhat
based on the Mech rules for Battletech...Insofar as here is a slot sized "D"
only an item sized "D" or smaller can be placed it this slot..This with some
thought could smooth some things out that The group I used to game with used
to frett over alot.."Well Were is this new doodad you just installed?"
"Oh..It is in the front of the vehicle."......A short while later..Major
fender bender smashes the left front quarter panel.."Oh my doo dad is ok it
was on the other side..." GM pulls out 2 handfuls of hair, and half the table
sez, "Yea..it is now..." ;)

Good point. Maybe a grade of aerodynamics is required depending on the
maneuvering speed.

Battletech design rules?!? Doh! And I'm an avid
Battletech player. I can't believe I never thought of
that. I have never had a problem with 'Mech design rules
(except when I want a 100 tonner to move at 10 ;)

But, if anyone want to use grades for the RBB until Rigger
II comes out it should work just fine. Just decrease the
CF requirement just like essence is reduced for cyber-
bioware, and increase the cost by the stated percentage.
If there's a performance reduction decrease it by the
essence reduction percentage. For example if you're
building a vehicle and putting something in it that takes
up 10 CF of space, costs 10,000 and its gamma grade (20%
CF, 300% price [BTW, I don't have the books handy so this
is just for the example cuz I can't remember the exact
numbers]) then it would take up 2 CF of space and cost
30,000. If you add 10,000 yen worth of armor and
performance is decreased by 20% and you put in gamma grade,
it would cost 30,000 and reduce performance by 4%. Have
fun.
