Pop-quiz: anyone know where the biggest war currently (present-day) being
fought is? Bonus points if you can name any of the participants.

Well, to hold off the suspense, the answer is the Congo. The reason I bring
it up on this list is that the Economist has done a good piece on the war
which might be of use to anyone thinking of running a campaign in Africa. It
details the current political situation, but that isn't as important to SR
as that it gives a very good feel to "politics as usual" in Africa. Its
opening paragraphs paint a picture that is all to easy to extend into SR. It
also summarizes the history of the area really well, and gave me a good deal
of synergy with news events in the past decade.

Amazing... There are only 2 national borders between all this and
myself, and yet I was only vaguely aware of "some trouble up north"

I hereby eat humble pie regarding all comments I've made about americans
being ignorant of the world outside their own borders *grin*
