I'm thinking about starting in a new group, and one of the ideas I'm tossing
about is a small (2-3 foot tall) gnomish type character. Now, one problem
I've thought about so far is firearms. I would imagine this lil' smurf dude
can't go stuffing combat shotguns under his size XXX-small long coat, but
could he possibly use a hold-out pistol?

Would it be more readily logical to have something custom made for him? If
so, any suggestion on stats?

Also, any other potential problems people can think of? As for car seats,
we always have the kiddie seats. :) (I'm sure this will draw many a jests
from the players, until they have to rely on this guy for something. Then
it'll be 'oh... ok...' kind of silence. *grin*) What about armour? Should
it retain it's impact/ballistic value? Would armor that is smaller and
more rounded (thus structurally stronger) have a higher value on either, or
a lower?

[snip the rest]

Maybe a good thing for Bull`s sprite metatype, just ask him if he can
sent it over to you.
Or try the gnom from the SR-compainion.

Oh most definitely, as well as similar category weapons. In SR, strength is
really the limiting force behind what you can use. If the weapon's power is
really grossly expressed in some fashion (Shotguns on Dwarves remains one of
my favorites), then yeah, I think Common Sense comes into play. BTW, I
hearsay that customization of personal gear in that potential game has a x2
to x4 cost modifier to it, or 50% for stuff that is already grossly expensive
(say, Personalized Cyberware???).

See above, but statistically speaking...use your own creative judgement.
