Description
This aerodynamically designed sports vehicle is roughly 5 meters long, 2.5
meters wide and clears roughly 1.75 meters high (including the wheels), which
makes this vehicle roughly the size of a Toyota Elite Limousine, but with
added flavor, this car flies. Using a new design, the SkyHawk is powered by
an internally housed FB 1600 Tilt-Wing Jet Propellor Engine, which is
certified for use on the city streets due to the main propellor being
completely housed within the vehicle. The thrust from the Jet Propellor
engine goes out through 6 vents on the bottom of the vehicle (which close when
driving on city streets) and two more in the rear to provide forward movement.
When driving on city streets, the vehicle has a top speed of 100 and is
capable of going into reverse. The Skyhawk has three wheels on a side, which
provide additional cover for the undermounted exhaust vents, there is one pair
in the front and two pairs of wheels to the rear. And for those really long
trips, there are two external mount points (with concealed covers) that can
mount additional fuel pods, which come in the following additonal fuel sizes of
200, 400, and 600 liters.

<<<<<[The SkyHawk is only now beginning to come into production, supposedly
FB
does not even have the original prototype. For what this thing can do, the
price is pretty good. Expect LoneStar to pick some of these puppies up soon
too. I hate this car.]>>>>>
– Speedracer [04:32:15 / 11-16-59]

<<<<<[I did some looking to find out who was on the design team at FB ...
it
was not even designed by them, Jason Spurrier, aka Herc, designed the damn
thing. Sold it to them for only 1 million nuyen, though there is an
interesting stipulation though, part of the royalties he gets go into
scholarships for students at Seattle University. I also did another look-up,
the prototype belongs to Maximillian and Melinda van Ettin, and supposedly it
is even better than the version that FB is putting out.]>>>>>

Hmmm....wait a sec. It's the size of an Elite, but has body 5? And armor 3?
Wouldn't you try to make it as light as possible to cut the fuel
consumption? (If my memory serves me right, thats 375kg of armor!)

I'd add a pilot. (Mainly for the Bladerunner-feeling)
Maybe some additinal Autonav, as a single crash into a populated area might
result in these babys being damned....

WOW! That's 100l per 100km....talking 'bout the 3l-car.....

So something for the really rich exec...

Basically I like it. Something to let rich people impress some runners I
know...

The reason for the body of 5 is that is the body given to a vehicle built
using the Tilt-Wing Rotorcraft Chassis ... and yes, it is a lot of armor, but
considering the damage that can be inflicted on a vehicle by anything,
especially a flying one .. the armor may not be enough for some ...

I considered it to, but that is something that can be added in by someone else
... besides, the average joe is not going to have something that can fly the
'car' better than themselves .... and as for the higher autonav .. that is a
good idea ... increase it to a 4 ... this would make it capable of handling
most terrains and weather situations ....

Yup ... compared to a lot less if I used a true VT Jet turbine engine power
plant instead ...

And for the cops to have as an additional high speed chaser vehicle ... the
military would also love it ... corps would get it to ferry around some of the
high execs in ... others would want it for the status symbol that it is ...
and some riggers would want it for the type of vehicle that it is ...

Have a Merry Christmas,

Mike
