I don't agree that it would limit bod etc. Admittedly the download
of data would have to be slowed down to run at the decks I/O rate but
it effectively monitors the line in parallel with the otaku. It
doesn't limit the char but if the char wants it to be able to cope he
would have to d-load at a speed it is capable of reading at.

You think this is how you run it ? If the character spends Karma
creating storage space then I'd have thought that's how he's doing
it. I can't remember if I posted it here or to somebody directly but
I think that otaku should be able to simulate most hardware through
complex forms, e.g. Satlink and (with a biomonitor) ICCM. Complex
form rating equal to char's MPCP currently in use.
I can't think of many advantages partitioning memory. The only
reasons it's done with hard-disks these days is to load different
OS's onto one drive or to reduce the storage overheads / wasted
space from cluster size. I don't really think that either of these
would apply to otaku's, especially the multiple OS's :)

OK, point taken. But the Detection Factor in VR 2.0 is an average of
Masking and Sleaze (I think). Therefore both methods play a part.

Otaku have adapted their brains through the deep resonance to allow
them to understand the matrix. Will they really allow anything which
affects their thought patters or the way their brain works to be
permanently attached or implanted ?

VR 2.0 is unclear as to what effect the transfer rate between decker
and deck has. That would be the only thing that the I/O SPU changes.
Maybe the decker should calculate bandwidth and ensure that that is
his connection rate to his deck, but why should things like running
program ratings affect the rate at which the decker communicates with
his deck ? Another gray area.
