I have solved this problem by throwing SR's rule through the window and
creating a whole new combat system.

first every person has STR+BOD physical h.p and W.P+BOD mental h.p
yes trolls may have 23 physical hp.

weapon stats are: concealability - 2 assault rifles, 3 carabines, 4 SMG
,5 heavy pistol, 6 compact heavy pistol, 7-8 light pistols,9-10 holdouts
range - use the shadowrun tables but multiply ranges by (scope level+1),
also add a new range category carabite (CAR) between smg and assault.
recoil-a base number typical recoil represents the ammount of shots
until you get a -1 t.n. typical 3 for 9mm pistol,1 for 10mm pistol,2 for m-16
etc. (recoil reduction - compensator +2,shock pads +1 etc
pen-the amount armor it takes to lower damage by 1. typical 1 for
9mm,04s&w 2 for m-16,4 for barrete
damage-the amount of boxes checked when a hit is scored. typical
3 for 9mm pistol, 6 for magnum 0.5, 6 for m-16, 14 for barrete.
damage is multiplied by 1.5,2,2.5 ... for every 2 TN reached
above necesary (if you needed TN 2 to hit target and made even one roll
at 8 your damage is *2.5, damage still increaces but with great dificulty
, no D damage from non headshots 0.22)
the upper rating of armor(6 balitic and above) are multiplied by 1.5)


this system may appear unplayable at first, but once you get used to it
it's more playable by far (no resistance rolls)

if anybody wants I could post my entire List of weapons in an excel
attachment.

You might as well just throw in Armor Class, or M.D.C. for heavy armor or
weapons... Part of the appeal of shadowrun is that it's damage system is
just a bit different than other games.

Personally I happen to like the idea of a Resistance roll.

Again, call me a purist, but I like to at least keep a semblance of the
same rules for the game that I play.
