My GM (who is Canadian) uses the NHL all the time.
Our game is set in Toronto and my character (who
is a private investigator) just paid a RCMP contact 1,000Y
for a ticket to the Stanley Cup Semi-Finals as a pay
off of an IOU for information. The Maple Leafs are in
the finals at the moment but are getting flogged.
Our GM uses a scream sheet style on his website
for the game and often there are reports about the NHL.
In particular the Maple Leaf's star player is not playing
well and obviously has something big on his mind.
Usually the events that are reported in the scream sheet
are things that turn into runs for us, and the results of
our runs are usually reported here.
So the NHL is the major sporting influence in our game.
It helps give it a Canadian feel when you've got the Maple
Leafs stopping the city for their games.
