Greetings -n- Salutations,

A while back someone (I wanna say it was Phil, but I'm not sure) wrote up a
list of Sperethial words and meanings. One of them was for Night Ones and it
struck me odd as the description of Night Ones seemed a little different
then that given in SR. I figured that maybe it was taken from an Earthdawn
source...

Now, due to events in my campaign, I have need for any information on Night
Ones from Earthdawn that may exist. If there is none that is fine, but I'm
hoping for a little more info then what is given in the SR Comp.

Thank you,
Travis "Aristotle" Heldibridle

*Phil raises his hand* Guilty as charged.

In Sperithiel there is the word catharel, meaning elf with wierd skin/hair
colour. I figured that covers Night Ones too. NOs don't actually exist in
ED as they do in SR, but elves with green skin, silver hair and fur do; they
use the same stats and may look a little strange to others but essentially
work the same.

As I say, of the ED stuff that I've read (DofED and the BBB), Night Ones are
not explictely described. In the paragraph on elves in the BBB it laks
about ones with outlandish characteristics. I think its safe to assume that
this is a reference to SR's Night Ones, Wakyami and maybe Dryads.

Phil

People are always asking me if I know Tyler Durden.

Well, it was worth a shot.. I'm a little to far into my storyline to back
out or change directions so I'll just fudge things.. I have a Night One,
Adept, in my group right now. She has been getting these strange visions
ever since her husband was assassinated (on their wedding day). Most of the
visions are of knights and mages fighting off some sort of horde of demons.
Recently, when the player used the "Hand of God" in a botched run she had a
vision of herself surrounded by men in brilliant armor. The one in the
forefront was quoted as saying "rise Light Bearer, your task is yet to be
completed."

What this is all drawing up to is about a year's worth of preperation and
foreshadowing to the adventure "Harlequin's Back". The Night One in question
is to find out that she is the 6th world reincarnation of a knight who
fought against the horrors. I'm still debating as to whether she will gain
any access to the powers of the Light Bearers.. as I haven't really got a
clue what those are *smile*.

As of now she is still quite unaware as to what is going on.. she
ocasionally finds a gift in her apartment that usually happens to be very
helpful to her in the next adventure. She's also getting a little curious
about the number of people helping her that all seem to have the same
tattoo... a sword, shield, and banner. *evil grin*

Of course I'm not the type to dote on one character and leave the rest
hanging.. heck.. the Troll Mage just initiated into the Black Lodge (no
really.. were going to help the world). I don't know if it makes me evil...
the fact that one of my players is befriending a horror while the other is
preparing to learn how to destroy them... Since the players in question are
boyfriend and girlfriend though.. I' guess that makes me at least moderately
"bad".

Thanks for the help Phil... one of these days I may even pick up some
Earthdawn books so I don't gotta pester you guys about this stuff all of the
time...

Thanks again!
