No, I believe there's a difference. .Z is a tar zip (thats a unix
process). To decompress a .Z file on a Unix system type:
compress -d (filename)

.GZ is in a format called GZIP. It's similar to pkzip, but you need
different software. I don't have the software, but I know it's out there.
Try some of the more popular game FTP sites.

I may be wrong here so any of you hard-core computer gurus feel free to
correct me.

Unix _compress_ gives a .Z file. Gzip gives a .gz file, pkzip (& others I
believe) give a .zip file. To uncompress a .Z file you use "uncompress
<file>". I also think gzip can uncompress .Z files (it's multi useful), in
which case you use "gunzip <file>". Note that these commands are for our
Unix Sun OS, so they may vary if you run a different Unix variant or a
different version of the compress/gzip software. I whoever posted the
original request doesn't have acces to a unix based machine to uncompress
the .Z files, you can mail me with what files you want and I'll try to do it
and forward them as ascii.

Hey, all you guys who answered my question, thanks alot.
Between what you sent me I garnered that the files are compressesd and I
need a gunzip program. I think I can get one around here somewhere. But if
I can't I'll be taking one of you up on your offers of help. Thanks agin.
