I'm in the market to get a good internet reference book. The
problem is that I have no idea which one to get. I was wondering if
anyone could help me out? Also, what about the books that come with
software? Are they any good? I would really appreciate any help anyone
could offer and help, thanks.

The Big Dummy's Guide to the Internet is available online (free) via FTP at
ftp.eff.org, and I find it an excellent aide. Will give you the basics
of network navigation as well and taking you through such things as FTP
and WWW use.

It is availbel in PostScript, ascii, and DVI formats.

It's my expieriecne that books offered in bookstores are hopelessly bad,
seriously out of date, and generally not worth the outrageous sums you
are charged for them. Same applies to the software that comes with this.

All the information you need is here is cyberspace already. it's not
worth paying some RealWorld chump for it.

Plus, quite a few of the Internet Guides that have been published on that stuff
called paper (how quaint! ;) are actually available on the net, as a lot of
authors now retain the electronic publishing rights to the stuff they write.
Mosaic is great for this kind of thing.
