Granite,

You weren't thinking of depleted uranium rounds were you ? I don't know much
about guns and ammo but from the stuff I've seen on the list I gather that you
could safely use DU tipped bullets, adds to the density of the round and so
has a great penetrating ability.

What I was (sillilly) referring to was not DU rounds. They're pretty
dull. I was referring to a round with enough conventional explosive in
it to push a radioactive mass to critical causing a small fission explosion.

Don't thwap me, I know its stupid, but just think about it . . . the
Terminator (robot) with a mini-gun shooting nuclear bullets....

Just think about it......

People,
I'm sorry ta burst yer bubbles, but fire those rounds; and in a few
weeks, months, years you'll be dead from radiation. Just had to say it.

Of course, you realize that a few years is a lot longer than the average
life expectancy of a runner.

Reality is for people that can't handle Role Playing.

Not really. Lead-line the magazine with a locking mechanism that will
cover the opening until the mag is inserted in the gun. In order to load
the magazine, you would have to have a special mechanism that would shield
you from the magazine and the bullets when you loaded it. Reloading
your magazine in combat with these would not be the most intelligent thing
a samauri could do. It is not necessarily practical, but it is possible.

no at the time i wasn't thinking about depleted uranium rounds-sombody
made a joke about what sounded like some sort of neuclear explosive
rounds
and as for du rounds i know that they [my stupid keyboard is giving me
fits] are generally thought of as safe -eeerrrrhhhhhtttt- sorry to say
that there are some reports of some serious radiation hazards from
depleted uranium [afterall what is the halflife of uranium]
oh and sorry it has taken me so long to get to my mailtool - i've got 2
boys both in sports and they have been running me ragged
