source to travel a certain lightyear distance from place to place. At the
speed of light, according to Einstein's Theory, a spaceship would acquire
infinite wieght, thus needing infinite energy. At Force 30, a Star Spirit
could have the power available to travel that one lightyear, but it will be
used up in the process.
Hyperspace is better because it works on the "theory" that Space-Time is
curved. Sort of like the General Theory of Relativity. The idea is that
there is another dimension which makes the distances over these curves
shorter. This is Hyperspace. A ship could theoretically enter this
dimension and travel in it to get to it's destination, thereby exiting
hyperspace and return to normal space for it's passengers to do it's work.
This also might be a real physics "explanation" of how teleport spells work.
Time Dialiation is best because it also works with the Special Theory of
Relativity. Using Einstein's guess about light and time, a space ship
approaching the speed of light causes time within the ship to slow down.
Then there is also more alterations in the way the flier perceives the space
around him. The problem with this way is Time. You leave your loved ones on
a ship like this, you never know what they will look like when you come back,
or if they will be even alive. But all three ways require an awful lot of
power. That's why a Spirit of at least 30 is required.

Oh, if you want to talk about instantaneous travel, then e-mail me privately
and I'll tell you about having the ability to think of a place and your
there.
