This reminds me of a test we make with every newbie player who
starts playing in our group. Here it is:
1. Throw a D4
2. Ask the newbie: 'which number shows the die'
3. If answer is correct, test passed
4. If newbie says 'don't know' say it's printed at the bottom
5. If newbie says the right answer, test passed
6. If (s)he's picking up the die, turning it around to look
at the bottom, test failed absolutely (insert 30 minutes of
laugher from the 'ancient' players at this point)

From my experience: If they don't pass the test at 3. they
will never pass it at 5. Someone out there did that test, too?
bye,
Stefan

Haven't done it, no, but I might if I ever get a new player *evil grin*
What is always nice of course is showing people your collection of dice and
look at them gaping at all those strange shapes :)
