The number of Off-Topic threads has reached an all time high. I've had
several complaints both on IRC and via email. The signal to noise ratio is
frankly, terrible. I realize that everyone loves to talk, and some of the
offtopic stuff is interesting, but it has gone too far.
I am going to politely ask that these threads stop. Take them to private
email. A *little* off topic is fine, full blown religious arguments are
just bloody stupid.
This isn't a rant. I have a job to be doing, and when 40-50% of the posts
coming through this list are NOT Sr related, I am failing.
This is from part III of the FAQ, and used to be in part II:

Officially, the following actions will take place with regards
to off-topic postings.

1. Non-Shadowrun threads that live for more that 24 hours
will be pointed out by the listowners. At that time,
either make the thread once again Shadowrun relevant or
take it to private email.
2. If after 48 hours, the thread still continues, the
listowner will start deleting people from the list. If
that happens, you are free to come back, but at the very
least, the deletion will serve as a warning to stay
relevant.

Consider this applicable now. This is going out to no-one in particular.
I have posted off topic today myself. I'm just as guilty as you, so I
guess I could delete myself..
:)

These messages were posted a long time ago on a mailing list far, far away. The copyright to their contents probably lies with the original authors of the individual messages, but since they were published in an electronic forum that anyone could subscribe to, and the logs were available to subscribers and most likely non-subscribers as well, it's felt that re-publishing them here is a kind of public service.
