Okay, I'm not quoting anything because I'm starting over from scratch
based on:
1) The stats Adam Getchell posted (which are too long to quote ... I
could use James' summary but quoting either source wouldn't add much to
the post except size so I hope no one minds :)
2) The other guns printed in SR2 (note the 2 not 3 ... if the guns' stats
have changed any in SR3 [it was my understanding that they wouldn't
much], someone will have to "upgrade" my post :)

Final Disclaimer: This is intended more to be balanced than to reflect
the capabilities of the OICW.

Before we get into the OICW, here are some stats for some RL weapons
(Source: Jane's Guns Recognition Guide) to base the OICWs (yes, plural)
off of:

Calico Light Pistol

Solid Butt version: -1 Conceal, 1 pt recoil compensation, 2.3 kg wt.
All version mount barrel mounted accessories only. Forward grip can be
removed (+2 recoil in full-auto mode) to allow underbarrel accessories to
be mounted at x2 price.

Combined - 11 20/1 mo 8,000 6
Stats
*Damage when airburst detonated is 10S (-4 power/-1 damage level per
meter)
The assault rifle includes a solid stock with shock pads and offers 2 pts
of recoil compensation.
The assault cannon has a folding trigger for use seperate from the
assault rifle and has +3 recoil (normally negated when combined).
The combined weapon, due to mass and assault rifle features, offers the
equivelant of 3 pts of recoil compensation.
The assault rifle (modified Calico Carbine) accepts top- and
barrel-mounted accessories normally and underbarrel accessories at x2
price. The assault cannon accepts top-mounted accessories at x2 price
and barrel mounted accessories at x4 price. Any top-mounted accessories
must be removed from the assault rifle before it can be combined with the
assault cannon. However, while combined, both weapons may take advantage
of any accessories mounted on top of the assault cannon.

recoil reduction (including shock pads).
Accepts underbarrel mounted accessories only.

Note: SSC lists stats for the G12 saying it is an improvement over the
G11 but it also says that the G12 is lighter than the G11 yet Jane's says
otherwise. Therefore I based this off the G11 and called the G13. :)

assault rifle but has +4 recoil when used in this fashion.
The combined weapon, due to mass and assault rifle features, offers the
equivelant of 4 pts of recoil compensation.
The assault rifle (modified G13) accepts top- and underbarrel
accessories. The assault cannon accepts top-mounted accessories at x2
price and barrel mounted accessories at x4 price. Any top-mounted

NOTE: Someone mentioned stats for this, I think. I haven't seen them so
I had to make them up. It'd be interesting to see how my stats matched
the other stats for it. Can someone post them or the addy where they can
be found?

Okay what do you think? Better? Sorry about the duplication in the
weapon descriptions but I wanted to make them complete in and of
themselves ...

Nice stats. The weapons, as you say, are more "balanced" than reflective of
reality. A PN-90 can pierce a helmet at 50 meters, as I've noted. They are
probably more palatable than the high-tech version I posted.

These are weapons players could probably get their hands on...

Thanks. :) Yeah, I realized that these weapons SHOULD be more effective
than those in SR, however, just about all modern weapons should as well.
Some people have complained about the weapons in non-FASA SBs (I know
they did for the Germany SB, dunno about other SBs) because the stats
where far superior to the cannon cannons. (get it? ga-harf! ga-harf! ;)
I think it is very likely that this was caused, not by a "we can do it
better" attitude that some people have suggested (or least not entirely),
but rather by a more realistic approach. For example, by my estimation,
the modern equivelants of SR guns should be around half weight.

At a quick glance, according to Jane's (again! :), automatic pistols
should be around 1 kg, revolvers should be around 1 kg, SMGs should be
around 3-4 kg (with some approaching 2 kg and the Steyr TMP is 1.3 kg
though is listed as machine pistol but put in the SMG category for some
reason ... oh well), bolt action rifles should be 4-6 kg (with a lot of
the more modern, sight-equiped models being around 6), Automatic Rifles
should be around 3-4, Machine guns range from 6/7- 10 kgs. Okay, so my
original approximation applies mainly to pistols but still ...

As long as I'm at it, why not make stats for a few of the other guns in
Jane's Guns Recognition Guide? (I'm going to use the same name even if
it's a modern version of a RL gun for simplicity/ease of reference.)

Liberator
Type Conceal Ammo Mode Damage Weight Avail Cost Street Index
Legality
Hold-out 9 1(b) SS 7L .25 8/12 hr 100 .5 4-E
The Liberator is a light assassin's weapon composed of dense plastics and
has a long barrel for it's size. The material composition gives it a
high (12) concealability versus metal detectors, however, it does nothing
versus other detection methods (ie, chem sniffers). The low mass, and
lack of rifling give a +1 T# while firing the weapon. The liberator ONLY
fires caseless rounds and though it only holds one round at a time (in
the chamber), five more can be stored in the hollow handle. There is NO
safety on this gun. The liberator will not accept any accessories.

Colt Anaconda
Type Conceal Ammo Mode Damage Weight Avail Cost Street Index Legality
Heavy 4 6(cy) SS 10M 2 4/24 hr 500 1 6P-E
The above is the 8" barrel version. It is also available barreled in 6"
(+1 Conceal, 9M damage, 1.8 kg wt, 400 cost), and 4" (+2 Conceal, 8M
damage, 1.6 kg wt, 300 cost).
All versions accept all top- and barrel-mounted accessories with the
exception of a silencer.

Stoner SR-25 (Note: I didn't really know how to represent this weapon's
purpose/capabilities [Assault rifle capable of filling in for the sniper]
so I hope these stats work ok.)
Type Conceal Ammo Mode Damage Weight Avail Cost Street Index
Legality
* 2 20(c) SA/BF 12M 5 16/2 mo 6,000 4
2-J
* Though classed as an assault rifle, this weapon uses sniper rifle
range.
This weapon includes an integral folding bipod, a removable
low-ligh/vision mag 2 scope, and a solid stock with shock pads.
This weapon accepts barrel and top-mounted (if the scope is removed)
accessories.

Okay, these where the only ones that were really interesting to me. (the
colt was just basicly to have a revolver other than the Ruger.) What do
you think? If you like, I can take requests (via *PRIVATE* email) for
guns IF I have the stats for them and IF it doesn't get overwhelming.

The Stoner was rough though ... perhaps it should use the Sporting Rifle
range? the descript in jane's says "Tests show that this rifle can
consistently put all shots of a group into a 19mm circle at 100m range."
That sounds like sniper quality range to me ... :)

Side Note: I based the stats for assault cannon portion of the OICWs off
of the MGL-12 in FoF.

(Btw, K, How's this [11 weapons, 15 counting the variants, in 1 day] for
designer's fever? ;)
