IMHO, cybereyes are basically a electro-mechanical device that replaces the eye.
Instead of the normal rods and cones as found in real eyes it has tiny photo
recepters in the same places as normal eyes have rods and cones. Each of these
photoreceptors is hooked to the individual optic nerve that the rod or cone
would have been hooked up to if it was a flesh eye. When light of the proper
frequency hits the photoreceptor it triggers an electronic impulse that
activates the proper nerve. Thus you see with a cybereye just like you see with
an normal eye.
Now Op Mag enlarges the picture when it enters the eye but before it hits the
photoreceptors. For all purposes it could be outside of the body and the effect
would be the exact same.
Electronic Mag works differently. It takes the image seen in the eye by the
photoreceptor and uses a computer to enlarge it before it continues to the
brain. This is the only way Electronic Mag could work. Buy definition it uses
a computer to blow up an image. Thus the image the person sees is not the one
that started at the photoreceptors just like the image you see in Electronic
Binoculars is not the one that came in the front of the binocular. Thus the
mage does not see the target directly in his mind! He cannot cast spells.
If you disagree with me on how cybereyes work, thats your right. But my way is
the most logical way to do it since it means cyberreplacement gives no enhanced
20/20 vision, but adding options still keeps the same sight, just as retinal
modification does.
