...are the critter powers. Pretty much all of them are based on Essence,
which is 6 in almost all cases (except for spirits, dragons, and mutated
critters). And 6 is hard to resist for most characters who don't have 6 or
more in the resisting attribute.

Whatever system they use in 4e, I hope that the effective power of critters
will be a bit more variable than this...
