As John points out in another email, the one problem with AIM is that it is
not inherently integrated with AOL's own Buddy Chat. The newer versions of
AOL do come a lot closer though (AOL6.0 is a frightening beast that quite
frankly I'm afraid of), and *anyone* can use AIM (AOL Instant Messenger)
even if they are connected to AOL at the time (at least we do it here a
lot).
