I have noticed a disturbing trend lately.

That is, a lot of you is arguing about things on the very edge of
definitions. Assumptions about ED/SR crossovers, deckers and magic,
and magic and technology in particular.

Why not consider carefully just how far from the rules you are, and
try to keep in mind that in this area what you are posting is
possibly alternate campaigns and house rules... not fact.

Most, if not every post, argues the sense of this or that, and the
discussion is in some cases growing heated and on the verge of name
calling. There is a lot of rather heavy assumptions taken for granted
in some of them.

Fade once dared to write,

<snip the rest>

Well, that's the nature of fringe areas. There is nothing to argue
when its laid out plain and simple in black and white. It's part of the
reasons we like to write. OTOH you are right about being on the verge of
a flame war. I've been trying my best to avoid starting one again (I
recognize my fault at being a firestarter at times). I think I've done
good so far and I hope others don't feel otherwise.

Ancient cultures believed that names held great power, personal names
more so and they were guarded very closely. To protect themselves, they
answered to another name, because if another discovered their real name,
it could be used against them.
History repeats itself.

Welcome to Shadowrun on the net, Fade. It's been like that since I can
remember, and I've been doing it for over 8 years.

... it's like this all over the net, actually. Still doesn't mean one can't
point it out when it gets too bad, now does it? It's gotten a lot worse the
last two weeks, IMO; a few discussions is straight out ridiculous.
