Actually, I think I can help. Though what I am suggesting is not -quite-
what was being offered/requested.

The (meta)human eyes have both receptors and transmitters within them. Maybe
not transmitters in the normal sense, but they are there. Photofors
(spelling?) If you ever "slam" your eyes shut, and you see "stars"
(NOT from
being hit in the eye, that is a mixture of things), those are photofors.

Those photofors could be receptive and do reflect patterns on the back of the
eye wall. It is something of the basis behind the "Eye Witness" module that
came out a while ago. Anyway, if you could find a way to stimulate the
photofor production in some fashion, you could possibly create an "optical
emitter", that could be perceived by a physical piece of hardware/machinery
(like modified glasses).

In reverse, the eye perceives everything that is can potentially react to
within it's perceptive specturm. The (meta)human mind simply doesn't
react/respond to the majority (some 70+% btw) of the stimuli on a conscious
level. If the person actually could be taught or learn how to "react" to the
stimuli, then you have a window in and out of the mind in which access to the
matrix could become feasible.

Please note, this is all VERY hypothetical, and requires some interesting
stuff to pull off and a big amount of imagination on not only the GM's part,
but his player group as well.

We've done it, made and still makes, for some interesting stuff.

That would be fairly easy to do actually. Neural Ganglia could be stimulated
into growth in a variety of areas. It would require some ethically
questionable surgical techniques, such as "Unborn Ganglial Transplanting",
but hey, it would help.
