To add to this, I have read somewhere about a rumored orichalcum mine in
Tir Tairngire. I could be wrong but the only explanations for this would
either be Gabriel's explanation, or that it turned into a dullish gold
that nobody would recognize as oricalchum. (I could be wrong but I think
it was in the Tir Tairngire book)

I know that there was supposed to be a mine in Britian somewhere but I
can't recall exactly. I do know that there was a color plate in the
London sourcebook of a palace and a couple of cyberknights from the area
where the mine is. There was also mention of orichalcum deposits
in one of the other books, but I can't seem to place it.

There is a comment like that in the TT book, followed by a reply along the
lines of "Orichalcum can't be mined -- it's created by people!" IIRC.

Here we are, page 22: "Rumor says that the Tir government discovered
deposits of orichalcum near Crater Lake. Wait--before you get your karma
in a spin and dump me, just let me say that I know that's impossible."

Bleaunea Festiniog (which i've probably misspelled). For get trying
to bounce the place it's a natural fortress of Welsh mountains full
of slate mines. Take enough firepower to cope with getting spotted
(against how much magic - this is an orialcum mine!) and you will get
in a military style fight, win goes to the better trained. As to
subtle shadowrunning, of course it's possible but the risk would be
extream.

I don't THINK there's one in the Tir...
I know for a fact that there's one in Wales though....

Which is why the deposit in Wales (which is impossible, but exists) must
have been put there by someone in the 4th world.
