/ They look really cool, though. What's it like anyway? Are the
/ controls and graphics similar to the Mech Warrior PC games?

Picture this: you sit in a bucket seat with a button covered joystick
at your right hand, a throttle at your left hand, and peddles at your
feet. Staight ahead is your view screen. The graphics and effects are
very similar to the PC game. Just below the viewscreen is another
display for radar, Mech systems, and a few other odds and ends. To the
left, right, and above the viewscreen are seven or eight small displays
for weapons status and such (and more buttons). And the pod is rigged
for surround sound as a bonus.

The play is very similar to the PC game. If you're on Basic mode all
you have to worry about is the throttle, the joystick, and the trigger
and thumb button on the joystick (energy and projectile weapons
respectively).

If you're on Advanced or Intermediate mode you steer with the
footpedals and control the torso twist (if available for your Mech)
with the joystick.

If you've got access to a manual you can learn how to change the weapon
and system settings.

The game is a lot of fun and if you're into simulator games I highly
recommend it. Even if you're not a simulator freak I recommend
checking it out at least once if you get the chance :)

..They had a line? At D&Bs in Denver they have a sign-up list. You
reserve a time slot and then you're free to spend money on their other
video games.
