Hya all!

I just played Blade Runner on my friend's PC yesterday. And I _must_ say, it
looked good. But, it also had a defenitly 'Shadowrunny' feel. Nice shady
graphics, low maintainance, lotza neon-lights, that kinda thing. If you
haven't seen it yet, check it out, itz a great game too.;)
BTW, does anyone know if the _film_ bladerunner took after Shadowrun or vice
versa?

CU'all 'round,

Well, I don't know when SR came out, but I have the Bladerunner video
here, and it says 1982. I believe it came first, but I could be wrong.

Yep Bladerunner is a kinda cool game ...

Did Bladerunner take after Shadowrun or vice versa ... Well
Bladerunner was made in 1982 so I think it is safe to say that
Bladerunner didn't copy Shadowrun ...

And verily, did Stefan hastily scribble thusly...
|Yep Bladerunner is a kinda cool game ...
|
|Did Bladerunner take after Shadowrun or vice versa ... Well

Considering that Bladrunner was the film of the book called "Do androids
dream of electric sheep", which I think predates even Neuromancer, I would
say it came first.

Also, shadowrun is a descendent of the Cyberpunk genre, based around
concepts in the William Gibson stories mostly....

I don't think shadowrun copied bladerunner either.
Inspired a little maybe though...

BladeRunner came out in film atleast in the early eighties. The neat thinmg
is that it'd a blend of two book. Dick's work was orginally titled "Do
Androids dream of electric sheep." The title Blade Runner came from a Book
by a author name of Andre Nourse(sp?). Orginally about organ legging but a
good book in it's own right. I guess they wanted a much cooler title than
Electric Sheep.

The film is about 5 years older than the game, so draw your own
concusions... :)

Bladerunner was based on the Cyberpunk Genre, for the most part, though it
was one of the early examples of such.

Shadowrun was written and released in 1989, obviously after Bladerunner
came out. I would be willing to bet that Bladerunner was one of the many
influences of the "modern" vision of Cyberpunk...

Still one of the finest pieces of cyberpunk cinema out there.
