Anybody know if there is a mailing list for White Wolf's Changeling: The
Dreaming?

I've got an idea for using some CtD stuff in SR, but would like to do a
little more research first, and since I don't want to buy another $25 book
..

Any help would be appreciated.

I don't know of any mailing lists, but there are two places you can look
on the web.

1) White-Wolf's web site, under "news" and then under "forums", and
then
of course just click "Changeling"... if you didn't know already. There
they have what amounts to chat-rooms and bulletin-board like places to
post. From my experience in browsing the Mage and Werewolf topics your
bound to find something usefull... and the people are fairly reasonable.

2) alt.games.white-wolf or, once you get past all that IC posting,
rec.games.frp.storyteller

You know having said that.... I think I do now remember seeing something
about mailing lists for WW somewhere. Pull up your trusty search engine
and type in "Anders Mage Page". After you find his page (I forget the
url...but wait...here it is: www.student.nada.kth.se/~nv91-asa/mage.html
-- I had to open up my offline viewer and scan my bookmarks file.) just
hunt around for something like "related links" or "Misc." or
something.
I'm sure I saw addresses for ww mailing lists.

hope that helped.

I did a search on changeling on the mailing list search engine at
www.liszt.com and came up with one. This is a cut and paste from their
entry:

You can mail a request for an "info" file to the server address,
listserv@******.wizards.com. Put this single line in the mail message:

info CHANGELING-L

Hope that helps.

An old issue of White Wolf Inphobia had an article about the internet in
it, and mentioned mailing list addresses for their games. Changeling
wasn't out at that time, but I'd be surprised if they didn't set up a list
for it (provided the others are still running, of course). I'll dig up the
issue and look it up...
Here we are, issue 52, page 89. vampire-l (that's an L, not an i),
werewolf-l, mage-l, wraith-l, and street-l, all @*******.com; I assume
Changeling is something like change-l. Natually, it fails to mention the
server address, but I believe it was a majordomo. You should be able to
get a listing of all the lists it runs from the server itself.

I subscribed to the Vampire list when I'd bought a copy of the rulebook,
but compared to ShadowRN, I thought it sucked big-time. Just about nothing
but in-character postings, and the thing refused my posts outright for
some weird reason. I gave up after a week or so...
