The money's not that good... as I understand it, MS pays its developers
fairly low salaries (below industry average), and tops up the package with
stock options that won't be available for five years, and you lose the
options if you quit/get fired/become sane and run away screaming, etc.
(I agree... MS API doco sucks. Just yesterday, I was entering an example
from part of their doco (from the help page for the function I was testing,
no less), and it didn't work due to a not-very-clear syntax error in the
example)
