I agree (hard luck by the way),the only reason why you
cracked the windsheild is because the glass or
perspects is laminated between several layers of thick
glass. The naked eye can't distinguish between the
individual layers of course, meant to be as clear as
possible to see through, but It explains why you
didn't go through It. Glass is laminated for safety
reasons too, so If There's a forceful enough impact
over a large area, the glass will frost enabling you
to drag It away In a complete sheet. Yes It's Known
for shattering into a million peices when It Frosts
too, but Its better than getting sliced in twain as
you catapult insert bodpart past point of impact,
collecting large jagged edges on way. I've known
someone to try & punch the side window of a car to get
to the driver, was a large powerful person, several
decent blows, only frosted the glass, broke & cut hand
up Pretty bad, nearly broke arm too, had to stop
person as still continueing after hand mangled & could
here distinct wet soppy sounds.
I broke back side window so someone could get into
their car after locking self out (honest, they were
group of old ladies, & no not the one with the
shopping cart full of guns from SR I ;). Brick bounces
off ( I didn't try pegging It, too dangerous as small
window, would have bounced off or collected &
damaged/dented around window of car) I levered the
corner with a screw driver till It popped & frosted
Over. If It hadn't Had old dirty sealing (stuck to
glass)I could have folded & dragged It out In 1
complete peice, Instead I had to settle for a Firie's
technique & scrape the shards away from frame, messy
glass in car & over road.
